very weird! testing on M1 with Docker Desktop works fine, my Linux box is still failing. did a full cleanup to ensure nothing is being cached. will continue investigating.

@elder flare if I run the same test as root (sudo go test ...) it works fine. the issue still happens when running with a regular user on my Linux box
