you can press a button like the contraption controls and it opens all doors that are available to open (if the station is set to left then the left side doors open and close) this makes the game more relistic and immersive. also it allows you to enter stations without having doors open and once doors are open and you are gonna depart you can manualy close the doors with the button so threr arent any open doors

... stations already open doors when a train pulls up. and you can choose which side of the train opens it's doors
This is already a feature
yeah, but why would you manually open them
because yes
and it would work in my server
and cos i dont want cab doors to open
at the same time
then set the station to not open them
yes but if i use "keep doors closed" once i leave the station it doesnt shut open doors
due to them having been manually opened I assume
yes
i need a close door button for that reason
so just close them manually after you've gone through them
this sounds like your just not closing it behind you
bruh
my train is literaly 230 blocks long
im not gonna close doors like that
im not the only one who plays on my server
well i don't see the point in the feature, but it's up to the team. so whatever
i see a point if your trains are 1:1 recreations of real sized trains
i made a 1:1 class 801 and its like 215 blocks long
why are you justifying it to someone who has no input on what is added. I don't care, if the mods care then whatever
i just had an opinion
k
i feel like this would be better as a feature in stations themselves as a 'close all doors regardless of method' or something similar
wdym
instead of having a separate button which feels clunky, having a condition/checkbox in the station block that closes all doors when the train leaves
good point
but i still would like a button to do both actions in the train too
it makes it more realistic
also i wish we could create a platform area for the train station and then if any doors on a train that are past the station (short platform) dont open at all but the ones that are in platform range do open
i think there should be a seperate thing in the schedule to unlock and lock the doors for manual use/open them
like in the schedule you can
set doors to <lock/special/manual/normal>
Hey, when playing ATM9 which has create AND steam 'n' rails, I was able to use a wrench to set each create door's behaviour. Doors set to MANUAL and part of a train, are NOT opened when arriving at a station.
I use this to allow for driver cabin doors that only open manually, and I've also used this to add doors only openable by redstone, so that they only open and close at stations and cannot be operated manually.
thats default create tho
door settings are a steam n rails feature
no?
Door settings were a steam n rails Feature but were then added to create iirc
nope, its just a steam n rails feature
part of it was added to create in 0.5.1
