coupling block should remain the same but the couplers should definitely work. When clicked with a wrench it should glow for a couple of seconds to show the mode (green for coupling enabled and red for coupling disabled). When coupling is enabled, running into a train that also has the coupling enabled option on a coupler should connect the trains/wagons. BUT if the speed is high and buffers are not placed the trains should crash,to make it a tad bit more realistic.
#Make decorative couplers NOT decorative

Ok, there is some valid ideas here, but then there is the problem of assemblies. For example, what happens when they would inevitably get dysynced between curves? Are you suggesting animations for opening and closing couplings? Would this override the current coupling system? Maybe a better way of going about it is to have couplings be linked between bogeys, so if the bogey registers being hooked up to something, that will trigger an animation on the coupling.
Couplers have planned functionality in a future update.
Please make sure to do your research before posting an idea that multiple people have already asked about
The devs stated upon the release of the couplers that they are CURRENTLY decorative. And they plan to add functionality to them. But they need to brainstorm and figure this out more.
Also as origami said. Do some research before submitting ideas.
As we have many of the same exact requests (like this one)
sorry didnt know that,i searched other suggestions and didnt find anything like it so i thought it wasnt heard of
