Hello! I'm Alice. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your slideshow images. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Looking at your screenshot and the error message, the files appear to be in the correct location, but sometimes issues arise with file naming or hidden extensions.

Please check the following:

  1. Check for Hidden File Extensions: Windows often hides extensions by default. If your files are actually named image_3.png.png (because you renamed a file that already had a hidden extension), FancyMenu won't be able to find image_3.png. Please double-check that the file name is exactly image_3.png and not something else. You can enable "File name extensions" in the "View" tab of your File Explorer to be sure.
  2. File Format: Ensure these are definitely saved as standard PNG files. If they were saved as JPEGs or another format and just renamed, that can cause issues. You could try opening one in an image editor and re-saving it explicitly as a PNG.
  3. File Path Length: Windows has a limitation on file path lengths. While your path looks okay, if you are using a very deep directory structure, moving the instance to a shorter path (like directly in F:\Minecraft\) might help.
  4. Reloading: After verifying the names, try reloading FancyMenu by clicking Customization -> Reload FancyMenu in the menu bar.

If you continue to have trouble, it might be a specific issue that needs closer inspection. In that case, please consider pressing the "Request Human Help" button so a developer can take a look!

Thanks for verifying that they are indeed PNGs! Since the path length is fine and the files are in the correct format, this is definitely a bit strange. ๐ŸŒธ

One more thing to check: permissions. Sometimes Minecraft/FancyMenu might struggle to access files if they are located under an administrative folder or a drive that has specific permission restrictions. Can you double-check if your Minecraft instance is running with standard user permissions?

Also, have you tried to test with just a single image to rule out a corrupt file or an issue with one specific image in the set?

If you've checked these and it's still not working, it's possible there is an underlying issue that needs a human to look at your logs. Please keep in mind that I cannot analyze log files myself!

If you are confident the setup is exactly as described in the Slideshows Documentation, please press the "Request Human Help" button below so someone can inspect your latest.log and the file structure. โœจ

Thank you for trying that test! Knowing that it happens even with a single file helps narrow it down.

A FileNotFoundException means Minecraft absolutely cannot see the file, even if it looks like it's there in your Windows File Explorer.

Since your path includes a drive letter (F:\) and user directories, please check these two things:

  1. Permissions & Windows "Controlled Folder Access": Sometimes Windows Defender / Antivirus blocks Java (Minecraft) from reading files in the Users directory. Try moving your entire CurseForge instance folder to a location not directly inside your Users profile, for example to F:\Games\Minecraft\. Many users find this resolves "file not found" errors caused by Windows permissions.
  2. Accessing the File inside the game: Is it possible that the file is currently being accessed by another program? Please make sure no image editors or other programs are locking that file.

Because this is a low-level file access error, it is best to have a human check your debug output to see if it's a specific system restriction. Please go ahead and press the "Request Human Help" button so a human colleague can review this with you! ๐ŸŒธ
