This pertains to the viciousness and fighting on this server. There is no good reason to fight with each other. It will do nothing and never has done anything but caused pointless suffering and Death. We continue to decieve ourselves, and drive ourselves into that which is salient and compulsory. And we continue to not mindfully discern that which arises out of body, mouth, and mind, which is the penultimate of proper education. Yet if we drive ourselves toward the love of the Good in dialogos, we may teach each other how to learn from our unending ignorance. Maybe then we could temper ourselves (Sophrysyne) and use deep contemplation (Theoria) to look through our bullshit- to stop robbing ourselves of our own precious time here on earth. In the “vicious” use of our time which is becoming ever more prevalent of our age, we are stuck in the threshold of pain, of overcomplicating things, of igniting fires and fueling them, feuds and disputes, for what? We are all here for the same reason. But the sheer answer to cut through self-deception comes from Socrates. If we Look into our ignorance and learn from it, if we learn to Know Thyself by being more mindful and more thoughtful and asking why we are spending our time in the way that we are, it is possible to cultivate a loving community here. A cultivation that prepares us for our own death, so that we can flourish, and spend time in the way that we want to spend it. To cultivate Virtue and Wisdom for ourselves with each other.
This is not a “practical action plan” that is being proposed here, which is an ever-increasing need for the proof of excellence that our culture prioritizes to take something seriously. This is instead about cultivating a spiritual creed and kinship to rejoin to the core of Neoplatonism, John’s work, and why we've all found ourselves here.
