#Fluid veins dissappeared suddenly
45 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
did you remove a fluid vein that used to exist?
No, only thing I did I moved my world from my local server to minecraft folder bcs server was crashing
I dont know if its related or not
hm, that's weird
sorry server was not crashing, I couldn't log in to server (I got the same issue with #1377)
i've noticed before that fluid veins disappear when minecraft crashes (1.3.0)
but my fluid rig has stopped because for some reason salt water vein just vanished? i didn't do anything other than relog into the world a few times after i placed it
it happened again, i just logged in and i see that my salt water isn't pumping
because every fluid vein near the one force-loaded chunk in the ocean is gone
Just found a simple way that can 100% reproduce this bug (tested several times in the latest Moni pack with gtceu v1.3.0, not sure if it’s a pure gt bug, but I’ll post it here anyway):
- Create a new world
- Set up a fluid drilling rig
- Claim and force-load that chunk through FTB Chunks
- Save and reload the world several times
And boom, the fluid veins around the claimed chunk just vanished.
does it happen if you don't claim the drill?
wait no, it still happened without claiming lol
Have same problem, latest version 1.3.0a
How to reproduce?
- Start game.
- Create new world.
- Find chunk with at least two fluids for easier debug.
- Check fluids with prospector.
- Build fluid rig so that it pumps fluid to for example a tank.
- Confirm with prospector, that fluid is being pumped, vein should show 99% for fluid as soon as the pumpint start. That's normal.
- Exit minecraft saving game, just normally exit via menu.
- Start minecraft.
- Load into the world.
- Check oil rig, it says there are no fluids in the area.
- Check with prospector, whole area is devoided of fluids.
Attaching fluids as a proof. Chunkloading does noty seems to have any impact on the problem.
Just quitting world, without quitting minecraft, and then loading into world stalls minecraft, and it's stuck at loading. But that's different problem for other bug report. BUT...
Just quitting world, without quitting minecraft, going into multiplayer menu, then going back to singleplayer menu, and loading back into world, does not make the chunks you're loaded into devoided of oil. You have to quit minecraft for it triggering the bug.
This seems to be area that the fluids vanish in
It's the same area the HV fluid prospector scanned. But it may be just coincidence.
That's really weird
What if you wait on the scan until all nearby chunks are loaded?
Now i created other rig, just to test more. Scanned chunks with luV Super Prospector.
Quit
Load Again.
No fluid disappear.
Then I scanned more chunks.
Quit. Load Again.
And...
All the chunks scanned with prospector disappeared.
Maybe it's a bug with prospector interaction?
I suspect it's caused by some conflicts between mods since I cant reproduce it in the community pack or vanilla gt
Maybe... I'm playing the Monifactory latest 0.5.4 release.
same
By the way If I'm not using prospector, again, maybe it's just coincidence. I can quit world back to main menu, and load back withot issue.
But now randomly after loading back again to worl, no fluids in area, that's what Drilling rig tells me.
And after spawning in prospector, and scanning just a single chunk has no fluid anymore
Yeah so scanning with the prospector when all chunks aren't loaded somehow clears all data?? But only in moni????
I don't know. I don't understand it. Especially that there is no clear pattern to when that clear appear. Sometimes after loading into the world, everything is ok, sometimes chunks fluids are voided :/
And using scanner only seem to change the amount of voided chunks.
You don't need to scan chunks for fluid to be voided. Interacting with it with the fluid drilling rig is enough.

yeah seems like the drilling rig has got a problem
Late when I find more time I'll try to trigger it in the GTCEU modern modpack that Mina has put together, to make sure it's not Monifactory specific problem.

ah dont know if this helps locate the bug, but this only happens while loading a save, never happened while playing.
Just reproduced it in GTCEU modern modpack, exactly the same behaviour. And I can concur, it only happens after loading save, never ever during play. My workaround is to open minecraft in the morning. Set up oil rig, and just have it working in background while I work my job 😉
Question: does it clear if you prospect only after loading all of the nearby area?
I try to reproduce it with and without loading all of the nearby area. And it was tricky to do it, because I don't really have a way to tell if area/chunk is loaded or not.
But what I did, is I revealed a large area around the place I was to build fluid rig. Then I built it, quit, enter world again and repeated few time. Trying to run propsector as fast as I loaded into the game etc. Fluids where there, rather consistently (5 maybe 7 tries is really low number of tries to be statistically significant... but hey, it's better then nothing)
Then I tried this. After loading into the game i flew far away to not be able to see fluid rig, and then some. I quit. Entered world again, and I quickly flew to the rig. After being near the rig, I opened prospector, and BAM, fluids are gone again, in area where I prospected before.
I hope it's helpfull, if not then I'm sorry. I would really love to help solve that particular issue.
Just come back with more info that might help:
I’ve been making backups of the gtceu_bedrock_fluid.dat file every once in a while (every 30 min. usually) to help recover my save in case the bug happened. And I find out that if the bug appears when I load the world, then ALL of the backups made during the last run turn out to be bugged as well. On the contrary, if I switch to a backup from a normal run, then everything’s fine.
I’m not sure about what’s stored in the data file or how it updates, but I guess it’s related in some way.
