Damascus steel has vanadium and tungsten in it 💀 that's what makes it more durable in the first place

i suggest you make the alloy/blast smelt with vanadium magnetite and some impure tungsten source or raw ores countaining those materials
In addition, the need for key trace impurities of carbide formers such as tungsten, vanadium or manganese within the materials needed for the production of the steel may be absent if this material was acquired from different production regions or smelted from ores lacking these key trace elements.
