i am currently making a gregtech hbm and tfc modpack which may be the first modpack with both gregtech and hbm
also the multiblock render totally did not lag my game

is the multi lagging when checking or not?
registered the multiblock and it caused loading times to go up from 3 minutes to infinity 
when i use multiblocked for biggest structure I had the same problem
And it seems to be stuck within the last loading phase and also with JEI/HEI loading
I could theoretically split the multiblock

Removing JEI/HEI if that's the case 
can i ask how do you added this to HBM material?
Changed mod priorities in GregTech config, moved HBM above gregtsch
Also added a new element, and a few lines of crafttweaker script to generate the rest of the material
Aight I'm gonna attempt to add this multiblock using multiblock tweaker since multiblocked has multiple skill issues with JEI when this multiblock is loaded into JEI
Or I can just remove JEI and multiblocked will work absolutely fine 
If I give up I will just remove JEI from the pack to get this multiblock working
so first thing i did, tried to remove JEI from the pack and game launches fine without any slowdown

Hbm has so many items Im not sure how you would even make it fit with gregtech

hbm 1.12.2 already has a few performance issues in some cases
Its very easy to make it fit with GregTech because we have very low standards of progression quality

But for gregtech what is it?
Since in gregtech you can reach pretty decent armor and weapons mid game sometimes or the pack that I played I was able to
the end goal in my case is synthesizing element 1000
There's no loop holes since without any modifications, GregTech and HBM have different gameplay loops
Their power systems are also incompatible which means there's no way for a loophole to happen
you should make it so that the item instantly disappears because of its half life

I think you're fundamentally misunderstanding pack design 

This is CBT:NH, everything you expected like pack design principles are flipped upside down and made irrelevant 
Is the pack going to just be “everything takes 20 times longer because fuck you”?
You should make a proper quest book, with many quest guiding player through modpack... but make those quest explaining everything wrong, and expect them to create items that they cannot yet create based on where they are in progression 
Every quest on a single page with no prerequisites for each quest
