In simple wealth, I read that for index funds the return amount is closer to 4%
Also for retirement accounts, I know that for atleast the 401k you gotta pay some fee (10%?) for withdrawing before turning 60 right
Honestly I'm not crazy well versed in investments. I've only read Intelligent Investor and Simple path to wealth but I still need to consolidate

I made a pet project by running simulations like that
there would be heuristics that would randomly assign promos, market fluctuations etc
funny to see how wildly different something can be
In one simulation universe, I apparently never make it past L4 and my portfolio is -4 million

In another I'm an L9 with a portfolio of 4.5 billion
Yeah I have a big leniency for reaching L4 within 2 years max
L5 within 5 years sounds reasonable
and I think I'm smart enough socially to make it to staff level relatively quickly like 8 years or so
