Man honestly, I really think that nobody in the real world outside this discord server, no recruiter or whatever is going to genuinely care about whatever prestige difference may exist between microsoft and palantir

I think us folks in this discord server suffer from a sort of tunnel vision where we assume recruiters and hiring managers analyze qualifications/resumes exactly the way we think about these things, that's to say via the somewhat arbitrary tier list of prestige we've hobbled together, but they have had completely different life experiences and are completely different people and so it's really unlikely that we are actually judged that way
Not saying I know how we get evaluated, but I sometimes see people debating very arbitrary and miniscule differences in company prestige like it's the difference between working at Google and working for a WITCH company, and I really just doubt (and hope) recruiting isn't this silly
