I believe this is just the first step. My recruiter mentioned that once the immigration assessment is done, my hiring manager will approve those and then the recruiter will mention about the next steps.

I don’t think you should worry cause every team is different and they are finalizing the headcounts right now. Once, headcount looks good, the recruiter will give a call.
