I have had a one year service in the army cause it's mandatory here, do I add it to my resume (since recruiters may feel sus when I have a gap year in my resume) or is it pointless?

I have around 2 years of experience so not alot of work experience to show off, Also I wanna note that, I really didn't do anything tech related in the army

Thank you!

If you are applying in America I think I would add it. Military service is generally seen as a noble/favorable act of service and I think you could potentially connect with a recruiter if they or someone in their family comes from a military background. The experience might not be technical but it does give a good impression on your integrity, professionalism and responsibilty, which always helps

@main aspen @marsh nexus Thank you, thing is I am not a US citizen nor am I relocating to the US, would you still add it?

Especially cause if I do, I'd need to remove the projects section which is a bit underwhelming anyways,

Here it is:

Projects
Weather App - Preview | Code
• Built a weather app using Next.js, React, and Chakra UI which forecasts the input city weather, and used
Vercel for deployment.
• Consumed APIs such as Google Places API, OpenWeatherMap and OpenUV to get the data for each query.
• Built charts using Chart.js aswell as making sure to deliver a good SEO for the website overall.

I only added it to show my knowledge in Next.js and Chakra

Are you not able to fit both on one page?
