Hey all, I've been on the job search for a little while now. Started in Fall because I took the Summer off after graduating to travel. Haven't had much luck lately with responses, any advice as to where I could make it better? I blacked out parts that gave personal information and put dummy links on text where there would be a link.

I just started a personal project with a friend that uses certain frameworks and tools that I haven't put on my resume yet, such as MongoDB, but we haven't gotten far with it yet. Should I add it as a personal project still, even though we just started? Or should I hold off until we have something more?

Thanks all, I really appreciate the help!

i feel like u could benefit from reordering ur sections and removing some clutter

^ and breaking up stuff into multiple bullet points, what's the point if you're just going to put everything into a paragraph

more specific suggestions:

  • put ur education then job first (remove peets coffee).
  • theres way too many courses right at the top in a fat blob, choose a few to highlight (operating systems, adv data structures, ML, etc.) and put it under education section
  • omit 3.5 GPA and just put provost honors under education
  • projects section next, and put skills at bottom
  • not sure where to put ur robotics award, might not be too relevant

Yeah so echoing some of that.
Education first, Skills next.
Put relevant coursework and other education related information in the same education section.
Work Experience above personal projects.
Remove barista job, it's not relevant and you'll either tell them in the job application form you fill out or in an interview.
Change hyperlinks to plain text links. You're application is going into ATS systems which render it as plaintext.
