I remember they asked about differences between FP and imperative languages + a bunch of distributed systems stuff (compare different types of databases, what is consistent hashing, compare that to sharding etc) during the phone interview

@iron gate I think people usually wrap up a little earlier than I did, but you need to get matched to a team to recieve an official offer. There were still quite a lot of people going through team matching the January-March timespan
And they usually took 3-4 weeks between each step (OA -> phone interviews -> starting host mtaching process)

@peak gull HR and then hiring manager round. HR round is pretty standard behavioral stuff. hiring manager round is usually also behavioral, in rare cases some ask algo/system design (but it's usually behavioral).

I really need help deciding what company to accept the offer.
The first company has great WLB, SDE-2 role, and work of my choice.
The second company is a startup, a lot of responsibility, great for learning, and higher stocks.
My concerns are the impact of the job title? One is SDE-2 and another is New grad. How it is going to help me in the future?
Second, even though the second company provides significant more stocks, it is not listed yet. I found in the news that in August they filed to go public, but you never know.
Next, my experience is in Android but I don't want to settle as an Android engineer. I was going for company 1, but after hearing the offer from company 2, I started to doubt myself.

The SDE2 thing is a fair point, but I think it depends on the company. SDE1 is sometimes reserved just for interns or parttimes, and SDE2 is considered entry level

you get a couple yrs experience at first company as SDE1 and then go to another company as SDE2 etc

@north kiln yes it definitely has for me. But if you're pretty much set on taking an offer, I'd suggest cancelling the interviews so that other ppl have a chance to interview with the company :)
