I've done freelance before you really just get a sense of who is going to be a giant pain the more often you do it. In general clients that are really vague or try to haggle about costs seem to be the ones that want endless revisions or will try to not pay. The best clients I've had never questioned pricing and had a good set of clear objectives up front.
