About the past career bit, do you think not having a previous design career is an entry barrier then?
I wouldn’t say it’d be a barrier to entry. Technically speaking, there are lots of junior designers entering the industry with obviously no past design career.
Though I’ll say that it is significantly harder for those that have not came from design backgrounds or have done design in some way shape or form in the past (whether it be through a formal design program in university, or maybe even just playing around with photoshop)
So it's more about the skills not the career. Cheers for clarifying 👍
@steel dove good to know there isn’t much of a difference. I was wondering that myself. some articles said that product design does more “end to end product thinking” (whatever that means) but I’ve always treated it as yet another synonym for the same job
