Hi everyone! I wanted some feedback regarding my app’s UI design. I’m having difficulty with choosing the color palette. I want it to be accessible, but at the same time I want it to look good. Which one looks better? If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. I only want the call to action button to stay orange as it is 🤗

UI Design - which one looks better?

hard quest

Limiting my feedback to just colors (ping me if you want me to make other notes). There are a lot of things going on - you have three different primary colors, which is causing quite a bit of confusion. Maybe try designing your page in black and white first, then decide on a color palette following the 60-30-10 rule (tl;dr: 60% of the UI is one color, 30% a second, and 10% a third - something off Google: https://uxplanet.org/5-simple-tips-on-using-color-in-your-design-40916d0dfa63), then change out of greyscale into colors. Why do you consider "View all orders" as a CTA? If anything, I would make that button not stand out - I would think that most people open the app to check on their most recent orders, not to look at what they've ordered in the past

Actually, while I'm here, I can give some more feedback:
Padding: Why doex the "My Recent Orders" section have more x-padding than the rest of the screen? I don't think there's a need to do that. Additionally, there's a lot of unmotivated y-padding in the boxes under "Recent Orders".
Search Bar: From a UX perspective, it's confusing - if anything, I'd make it just a "search recent orders" one, and add a completely new flow for adding a new order
Info Presented: Think about what info you're presenting to the user, and if it's important - does the user really need to see their order number or their address from this screen? Does the picture and username need to be so large at the top of the screen? Does it even serve a function? For example, consider replacing the order number with something that the user can use to quickly identify their order, eg "Blue Jeans, Flannel Shirt, + 12 more"

You're clearly very talented - I hope you take some of my notes into consideration. Lots of what I said are personal taste, but other things do very directly impact the user experience. Feel free to ping if you want me to review future prototypes or have any questions

No this is actually my first UX project so I really appreciate your feedback on this. Thank you so much Isaac for taking the time to give me some feedback I can work on. I’ll send you a message so I can understand more of your feedback and put it to work☺️

I agree with everything Isaac's mentioned. I'd also question the location of the view my order CTA, is there a reason why it's off to one side? The concern I can come up with currently is that it does not favor left handed users (if they're using just one hand) Also, is it useful to be providing the user's address under the welcome message? If your intent is to modify delivery address, then maybe there needs to be an option for users to do that. This question also applies to the size of the person's image; they currently take up a lot of valuable screen real estate, (nearly 1/3 of it) and it might be worth reconsidering how you address those assets.

And just like Isaac said, these aren't criticisms, but more bringing to light questions to ask yourself as you design. Something I've learned in my experience is to be very deliberate with every part of your design and be ready to defend it with well thought out answers. Great work otherwise!

That is actually the reason why I chose to make the button a little bit bigger than it normally would, to allow for accessibility whether you’re left or right handed. I just aligned it to the right cause it looked more visually appealing that way. I do agree with you on the address and the profile picture. I also think the profile picture is taking a lot of space and I guess I needed someone to point it out for me so that I notice it. I’m a newbie so I’m still figuring the whole UI design space. It just takes a lot of time and practice and the more feedback I get, the better. So thank you so much Larry I really do appreciate your feedback and let me know if you have any more comments or suggestions that I can learn from ☺️
