I don't really understand this question, but you mentioned in your other post that you're interested in roles beyond designer. You also said you feel like one chooses only one direction in a company.
That's certainly not true from what I've seen. In smaller companies it's easier to hop around and wear many hats, but even in larger, more structured companies there's always room to switch directions or specialties. Once you're in the door, you can prove your worth in multiple areas, and use internal referrals to find footing in other departments.

So if you got a PM mentor, it could help you move toward PM while still currently doing just design.
I personally couldn't do just PMing. I need to have Figma open, pushing things around. It's part of how I process requirements.
