That’s such a bummer, I’m sorry! The amount of red flags in their assessment/quick turn around website design would make me not want to work for them. First and foremost, how can you recreate a website by tomorrow EOD without spending time talking to the client to find out their wants/needs? It shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the design process on the clients end, not to mention the free labor side of things and that a deadline like that is absurd. However, this would be a good teachable moment for them if you feel up to taking the time to explain to them why this is not ok. A lot of the times clients are just not aware of why it’s wrong, not that they are purposely trying to take advantage of you. They may have burned in the past by a designer who wasn’t a good fit, which if this is their hiring process, may definitely be the case.
