any feedback on where i could go with this?

**context: **malaysian-chinese restaurant chain looking for a mascot design to put onto tshirt. company seems to want to convey authenticity, spice and passion in their design.

if there are any malay designers here who can give me better cultural insight that would be awesome!

did some bg research into the hometown of the owners (penang) as i felt like from seeing the prev designs they rejected, they really wanted cultural authenticity represented. the food they would've eaten and the culture they were brought up in. then looked into designs and patterns they see around them - for ex, their food bowls, what their food stalls would've looked like and what those people operating those stalls would've been like.

noticed a recurring element of seeing chinese phoenixes on said food bowls (if it wasn't a peony), decided to run with that and see if i could turn it into something along with other elements. as i really did not want to use human mascots in my design, i figured that perhaps something like a phoenix could be used and would fit, see as phoenixes are associated with fire.

which then turned into this general theme of 'what if the phoenix was cooking with the wok, but its tail was flaming the wok at the same time?' - hence my drawings

my main concern is perhaps the phoenix is too 'grand' or too 'elegant' of a symbol to be associated with a street food resturant chain.
