Hi, I just started industrial design and I think there's something off with my product but I don't know what (the lid is help in place by a rubber on the mug, both of them have a dent) any advices or suggestions?

what’s the use case for this man? 🙂
also who’s your target market? if coffee enthusiasts i suggest you checkout kruge or some starbucks mugs
i think the mouth lid isn’t the best? like for sb’s lip portion it conforms well to lips haha
I’d get sketching, doodling, modelling, and iterating! How it works, feels, functions etc is just as (often more) important as how it looks in physical products/artefacts. Doesn’t matter what the sketches or models look like but you’ll find a lot of inspiration and utility in a process from iterating and getting physical. CAD is great for translating ideas into something a bit more realistic or tangible, but it’s not the be all and end all :) I’d maybe think about how a person might sip from this cup, whether there’s any issues with current flasks you think are worth tackling or trying to improve, how someone might close or seal the mouthpiece, and how you might manufacture the lid and body :) good luck! ✨😁
Foam, card, clay, paper, etc all great tools for messing around with this sort of stuff!
I think you need to elevate it some how because the coffee needs a place to go when there are small spills
You could look at other mug lids- Starbucks
You could also try experimenting with different shapes that makes it comfortable to sip/hold
I'd suggest making the base just slightly smaller so that feels more like a cup/mug than just a cylinder?
