Hi! I was trying to build a home inventory and organizer dashboard, and I am looking for some constructive feedback about my design! Thanks!

For the side nav menu items, the red font in the red gradient background, I would check the color accessibility on that. I am guessing "New List Item" is either a tertiary or secondary button. I suggest making it more like a button maybe in a different color. I see that this design is mainly red, white, and gray and black. I suggest looking for a secondary color that passes the color accessibility with the red so you can have another color to differentiate the call-to-actions more. But great job! Overall, it looks clean and easy to understand

+1 on Crystal's comment about the accessibility of the buttons – the background and foreground colours seem to have low contrast. https://www.getstark.co – this platform has plug-ins for most UI design software and you can easily check contrast ratios of elements with it.

Also, the selected state style of the "Home" navigation item and the style of the "New Item" button are pretty similar. I would consider using different styles for those, as one is "selected" and presumably not interactive and the other is an interactive, primary button.

Another small thing made an impression as well – the margins between labels and icons is as big as the margins between the list items themselves. I would consider reducing the space between icons and labels to increase perceived grouping and make them easier to scan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principles_of_grouping#Proximity
