I've bought two of the ADAFruit USB to UART cables that you have listed in your guide (the exact amazon link) and they do not work. I'll go through what steps I went through to troubleshoot:
- I have a functional UART to USB board that isn't the ADAFruit cable that works fine and I've tested each arduino I'm trying to use. They connect instantly within PokeAutomation.
- I have the Silicon Labs 210x drivers installed as that is what my working cable uses and it's what these ADAFruit cables are using as well.
- I have tried the cables on a separate computer with no joy.
- I have tested continuity of the dupont cables with my multimeter and they seem to work. I have also tried different dupont cables (that were also later tested good) and they did not work either.
I'm not exactly sure where to go from here besides initiating a refund and just buying more of the first board which doesn't look good, but works. The amazon listing states that the cables use the Silicon Labs chip and other recent reviews seem to reflect that. I would post the link to the listing but I'm unsure if it's against the rules to post the link. Will do if requested. The PokeAutomation application is just stuck at "connecting" so I believe that either TX or RX isn't working. I also don't get anything back from putty when connecting directly with the board closed (and PokeAuto).
