Hey all, I am trying to flash a program onto my Leonardo but I don't believe it is working correctly as the Git hub guide advised there should be a "bunch of logging" when I only have a few lines.

Please could anyone advise what I am doing incorrectly?

Leonardo not flashing correctly

yeah this is not a successful flash, in many cases the wrong port is detected during flashing

#

spamming reset during a flash helps in that situation, can you try that first and if it doesn't work we'll move to further trouble shooting

Thanks so much for confirming! I have swapped out the cable and tried a few times in a row but not spamming the reset button so I will try this soon

Spamming is unfortunately not working. Can you advise on further troubleshooting please?

can you check if it has the right port as detected under device manager

The port is COM10

The L light is also constantly blinking

are you connecting a Leonardo? it should show up as so

#

unless it's already flashed but not in your case

#

sanity check - do you have the microcontroller or the UART connected to your computer

Yes a Leonardo, thanks for showing what it should show as.

Yes I only have the Leonardo connected when trying to flash

#

So my computer is not recognising the Leonardo.

I did download the recommended drivers from Git hub

thank you for being detailed in your feedback this helps a lot, I wanted to check if it has the right chips any chance you could either take a picture or write what chips it came with?

Yes of cours

oh this is an official one, weird then how it's not recognized

Thanks for confirming, I know I am pulling my hair out haha

lacking Arduino drivers is my next thought

hoary zealot
#

Would the Silabs CP210X drivers I downloaded have replaced something?

jovial bough
#

that is a different component with different chips and functionality so you're good there

hoary zealot
#

Thanks for the link I am just trhing to find the files to download with the drivers

Can you advise if these are the correct drivers please?

Hello. I'm very new to this community but I had the exact same problem as you. It turns out, in my excitement, I had downloaded the latest version of QMK_Toolbox where as the online user guide (https://github.com/PokemonAutomation/Microcontroller/blob/master/Wiki/Software/Beginner-Windows-ArduinoLeonardo.md) specifically states to download version 0.1.1.

After I downloaded the correct version it worked perfectly. I really hope this helps as it's a very simple solution. Apologies if this is no use to you.
