That's not the problem. The bug report here is that the notification is wrong, but it looks fine on my side.
Oh make sure your party is full. The program expects extra dialogs on a successful catch.

Like the add to party stuff.
That's how the program distinguishes success and fail. If it just goes back to overworld with no dialogs, it means it fainted.
maybe they didn't set these for legendries?
Maybe because it's not in any of the game's dex'es?

Either way, this probably isn't fixable because there's no way we can distinguish a faint from a catch without something to detect.

If your own mon faints you see the "use next pokemon" prompt. On a successful catch or opponent faint, the battle returns to the overworld and the presence of dialogs will distinguish them.
What if you tried turning on nicknaming?
