#Issue with egg hatcher Scarlet/Violet

I have an issue with the s/v microcontroller egg hatcher: when i start the program, it goes into the boxes, selects the first egg only, opens the select menu on it, waits, puts it back, then runs with no eggs.
I've already tried restarting console, reflashing program, and changing number of boxes - none have worked. If anyone knows a solution, please respond.

I found a way to make it work. I started on the top left egg in the storage, rather than what is in the picture (hovering over boxes)
