three main factors that hold this game back
1- toxic guilds / individuals that use this game as a platform to bully people, monopolize the game, and vent their frustration in life at strangers and ruin a good game
regardless im just saying if you want more players you should encourage less toxic behavior

  • i dont mind aggressive banter post kill or during / leading up to pvp exchanges
f youre gonna say things that are incendiary dont be surprised as to why new players who come end up leaving not long after because they only encounter toxicity and rudeness from many of the sweats / veteran players they just abandon the game ...

and ultimately if you care about this game youd probably realize that just because you can say something toxic and insulting doesn't mean you should.

2- lots of sus players
eg; how does someone know who i am at the beginning of the raid not on my team? + openly voiping the names of me and my teammates.
say if im in a pod in space or even as a pilot on rust bucket, sometimes even during raids?
-> logic dictates, because they have some toggle interface that allows them to see pvp player info ... duh and me as a merit based player needs to contend with essentially cheaters who ruin the game for everyone trying to enjoy this game legitimately

3- updates + new content
another major factor is that whoever / whatever element in control of the development of this game, since its labelled as 'early access' are for some reason very vague and inconsistent regarding new content & updates... seems to me that at some point the motivation to pump out new quality updates with a lot of new cool content [like the update i first experience after i got marauders for 1 week... i joined this game when the update with salvages happened] ceased to be the policy

again i say this because i do really love this game

There is a streamer who made the case that VOIP destroyed the player base. I’m going to disable it next time I play bc i’d rather not hear morons show off their slur lexicon in the few seconds that exist after a kill.

# lean spire I disagree, before voip it was all kill or be killed. I've teamed up with random...

A couple of times? That’s cool. The negative interactions far outnumber the positive in my nearly 1,000 hours of experience. I’ve had rewarding friendly experiences using the “hold fire” and “follow me” voicelines pre-VOIP. If I wanted to hear toxic slur-slinging i’d… well, I guess the most assured way I can hear slurs on a random Tuesday night would be to play Marauders.
