#Penal Colony Airlocks Too Close

NOTE: changed to only penal colony, as terraformer has already had these changes.

💡 What is motivating this suggestion?
In the Penal Colony and Terraformer I often run into players extremely quickly from airlocks, it is very easy to rush or get rushed from airlocks as well as cut off from any potential escape or repositioning. This has led to me avoiding taking contracts for prison, and generally dreading them when I see it.

💡 What is your proposal?
Penal Colony should receive similar treatment to Asteroid Mine and Spaceport, receiving some updates to the terrain of the map to separate the airlock areas a bit more with the goal of preventing unreasonable and consistent rushes.

💡 Exactly and specifically, what should be changed and how?
New and/or changed walls and obstacles to separate the airlock "areas", that will guide players slightly away from moving directly towards other airlocks.

I think the general idea of the suggestion is fairly simple, though as to the specific placement of walls and obstacles, I am not certain.

Terraformer was already modified, and it's substantially improved. I haven't really had much of an issue with prison.

Prison you can usually hear them coming if you're in at the same time because there's usually a Raider inbetween you and them

Terraformer feels good to me for now after the last patch, but in prison, the kitchen, visitation, and gym airlocks are too close imo

Honestly I’d forgotten about the changes to terraformer, with those in mind it’s probably alright.
But prison... I should not be able to see another airlock in less than half a minute of walking.

And people can make the same arguments about how to deal with that, “just wait five minutes before exiting the airlock”, but this suggestion is intended to be in line with what the devs have already shown is their intention with other maps.

Yeah they like crews fighting eachother quickly, so not sure the change. Although the terraformer new airlocks seem pretty removed from the other two pairs

The... devs? That hasn't been the impression I've gotten from them based on the changes they've made to Terraformer, Spaceport, and Mine.
Being able to reach the other airlocks in a reasonable amount of time is good, but I don't think it's good for them to be too easily rushed like they can be on Penal Colony.

I know there's a significant portion of players that are more interested in the pvp that would rather you can quickly rush other airlocks, but that defeats nearly half of the gameplay loop. The pvp focused players would lose nothing if the entirety of the space portion and the most of the map for each raid were removed, since all they want is to engage in pvp. Hence, changing the maps a little bit to encourage engagement with more aspects of the gameplay (which is also what draws most players) is a good thing.

I still say penal isn't half as bad as mine if too close is the issue....they're literally shoulder to shoulder on mine

Penal colony has airlocks spread out across 360 degrees of the outer ring and 2 of the three cell block levels. I am not sure the problem you suggest exists.
