Improve Anti-Cheat

Pretty straight forward, start using Battleye anti-cheat.

Easy Anti-Cheat is actually free for devs to use, but Battleye requires an ongoing licensing cost (unknown exactly how much, but some reports say it depends on number of servers needing to auth with it, etc.)

In theory I'm all for improving the controls around catching and stopping cheaters, however I also understand it might be a cost prohibitive thing to do.

seen a lot of cheaters so i did a search to see how easy it was to find pages that offered hacks for the game... its a pretty lucrative list of results, i dont cheat, i dont like cheating, i did the search to figure out how easy it was to aquire, we need better anticheat before the game dies

I don't know what you're talking about, there's no cheaters, I've played this game for decades, and any time I've died it's been justified. Y'all just need to get good.

No, but seriously, there's absolutely free cheat engines out there, did my research after gettting killed for the umpteenth time in really suspect ways (people teleporting behind me).
It's a pretty big issue, and if people aren't willing to spend money to get the game playable, there isn't going to be a game to make any money off of anyway.

Gotten 2 spambots and 1 is more the. Enough but I still play cuz it has less hacker the any other game, and it’s got potential

maybe when dealing with cheats etc there are also a lot of false positives given by anti virus software, but you could very well be right i didnt actually go to any of the sites so who knows

True, but you can’t base the quality of the game’s anticheat by how many “marauders cheats” google results come up 💀

@true robin no but i can use it as an indication on wether or not it is easy to find results and even if 5 of those results are just scams and viruses theres still another 5 easily available results, so i can determine that there is easy availability and since the people i play with are troubled with meeting hackers semi regularly now i can determine that this game needs BETTER anticheat, idk what it uses today but its not enough to cover the needs of the game.

Id love to see any clips you have of these cheaters that the people you play with meet semi regularly. Like I said, I’ve literally never run into a cheater when playing this game (as have 99% of my friends), but if you can show me that’s just me being ridiculously lucky and avoiding them then i shall rethink my opinion on the games’ anticheat.

Until then I remain firm that this game does NOT have a big cheating problem and that the anticheat is sufficient for the moment

well i havent met them personally, been lucky that way. i was skeptical at first when they said they met hackers, i thought maybe they just had a buggy encounter, maybe the hit boxes got a bit buggy or something, but theyve had encounters like people using voip to say where my friends were going even though you couldnt see the hacker, most likely he was using a wallhack, another time they met a dude that just stood there and tanked 2 magazines and a full clip from a sidearm before walking up to my friends and shooting them. and these kinds of encounters have been happening semi regularly for them, they play a lot more than me so it makes sense that they would then have a greater chance of running into them, but i havent experienced them myself. but if the problem gets so bad my friends might quit the game well then i would have noone to play with and would likely quit myself as i dont like to play alone.
@true robin so i wont be able to provide video of this but its been an experienced problem and from the way my friends detail the encounters it doesnt sound like a bug or something else innocent excuse for what they have been experiencing

Would you be able to get these friends to submit clips? not only would it peak my curiosity but would also massively increase the chance of them getting banned if they do turn out to be cheating.
A potential explanation for some of these weird scenarios such as someone telling your friends where they are may also be able to be provided, perhaps a cheeky rat spot that your friends missed and that the voiper saw them from

I totally understand you not wanting the situation to reach a point your friends quit btw, id hate for that to happen too, but I genuinely am not sure how bad it is as I have seen very few clips of people genuinely cheating

they dont record while playing, maybe i will start to record my gaming sessions if thats what it takes to document bugs and errors etc etc @true robin

Medal is a great option but if you have an nvidea GPU clipping is built into the GeForce software and can be accessed by alt + z

i turn off every other overlay other than steam, ive had a few too many bugs occurr from 3 or 4 different softwares having their own overlay, some cause issues too. so i have the nvidia thing turned off

If that’s the case then recording probably isn’t an appropriate option as it doesn’t seem as if you have the hardware to not have it be a huge detriment to your gaming experience

See if you are able to get nvidea or medal to work, or at least suggest it to your friends so they can help fight against any cheaters :)
