First of all, performance matters, so do multiple takes if necessary and provide feeling and emotion if you can - dont be shy lol
Also, make sure the vocals are not too quiet BUT ALSO not too loud, -18 db is good enough and -12 db max is fine (if you don’t know what that means just look at the audio wave form visually it shouldn’t quiet but also not too loud)
Make sure you’re in a quiet room with no background noise or ambient or room reverb (echoes) like AC or fans, people, dogs, open windows, and no bathroom, (if it has echoes) etc
editing vocals and background music etc is for the audio and mixer/master engineers, if you need a mixer hmu
