Blacktail Studio on YouTube has created makerbook.io, a website where you can lookup and share workshops near you that let you use tools or offer services in woodworking, metalworking, etc.

It's community driven I was surprised it had anything in Germany vaguely near me.

the location search is a bit weird - searching for "Perth, Western Australia" gives me one result in Western Australia, then a bunch in the east of Australia, then Singapore, New Zealand, Thailand, India, Japan..... and further away

I think it's a good idea but not yet with enough data, at least outside of the US.

It seems they've changed the purpose of the site. Now it's a storefront for makers to sell their work. An alternative to Etsy but with everything verified to be the makers actual work and not just drop shipping. Right now only for woodworkers.
