Very, very early days. But I believe a few people on here have are van-ers - so would appreciate any input you have. Basically want to make something similar to park4nights, but open source / open data etc.

(also, if anyone has any thoughts on a better name - please say)

Basically looking for people to submit places you can park vans - especially if you can park overnight.

Sill working on the schema and stuff - so feel free to either submit via issues, or if you have a spreadsheet or something you keep for yourselves, that would be great too.

As you'll see - it's very early days. I'm going to be working through a list of POIs I have and will be adding them over the next few weeks. But something like this is only going to work with lots of data submitted. So wanted to put the call out early on.

Hi @stable token,
Not a van-er myself, so can't help much with this project. However, it reminded me of something of very similar nature: https://nerdydaytrips.org/. Just to be clear: I have no affiliation with this, It's a project I heard of on the Linux Matters Podcast.

Alan Pope, the creator, is on the podcast and talks about some of the challenges and solutions with this project. I thought it could be of help for you, because the premise is almost the same: crowd source data, curate it and publish the data for anyone to enjoy. Only he is gathering POIs instead of van places. 😉

Alan is talking about this project in episodes #57 (13:14 - 24:25), #58 (11:08 - 22:05) and #59 (00:18 - 11:34) about it. The first episode is more of a what and why, but the next two are about the actual workflows and technologies he uses.

Maybe it can give you some inspiration or help you solve some issues quicker. 🙂
