Hi so I'm new to chess and I would like to learn and get good at the game and I'm kinda broke so I can't pay for actual lessons so I would be so happy if someone could train me and mentor me or if you have any suggestions about where to find someone? Btw, I am 15 just incase you aren't ok with interacting with minors | DMs are open

My suggestion is be active here; make friendships with higher rated players and play with them regularly; they have insights and tricks they’ll share that you won’t get from anyone else; even coaches. The collection of wisdom in the chess community is a valuable resource that can most apply be described as a scavenger hunt. Playing with people at your level will also allow you to understand how the game is understood by people at your level, which will allow you to understand how different levels of play are viewed by different rating groups.
Try to tap into YouTube as a valuable resource as well.
Additionally, if you don’t have a lichess account; make one, and if you have a chess.com account; switch. The free analysis board and free puzzles will be instrumental in your success.
Check out #help-and-advice #openings #endgames for any questions you may have and try to join the VCs if you have time for it.
ok thank you
