How do you study tactics?

Hi!
I've realised I kinda suck at tactics compared to my other skills however I'm not sure how to study it. The most practice I did on it was playing games and lichess puzzles but I never really focused on it and am clueless on how to proceed. So I was wondering if there were any books or methods you all would recommend.

For context I'm 1900 chess.com and fine with trying out basically anything.

I was always disproportionately better at tactics than my other skills

But i improved a lot:

When looking at some gms who use tactics as their whole game

Also doing the daily puzzles on chess.com

Also strangely enough from gaining experience with better opponents
