For Neo use dual Beretta. But Nuo use guns with 600 and more range and try to get it's pilot as it's necessary.
For bots just grind data pads and black market key chests to get some. I don't think there is any bot you can buy with gold that is sill in use (other than raijin maybe) so save the gold for now.
Make the t3 (purple) bots you like in workshop. I recommend TYR, Mender or Wayland as they're healers and tanky.
And loki for beacon running.

Nuo prefers mid range as low health = gets evaporated at close range. If you have boom + bash those are the current best but any 500m+ effective range weapon should work. (NOT PUNISHER)
If you want a robots, both loki and raven are good investments as they can be used for basically the entire game. (Raven is high skill and pilot reliant though and both fold like tissue if the enemy has anti-stealth)
Also would only recommend mender since both tyr and weyland are in the fun position where they are too slow to run away but not tanky enough to survive when attacked. (Demeter is a straight upgrade to mender most of the time though and imugi is a way better workshop bot)
