should I open 3 silver chests during the 2x or save for a gold chest and open it later or will I get the super chest either way

First, do you need pilot
Second, you would want to get the bronze one during 2x event....
2x??? You got 200%??? Damn..
I never encountered one after the update

I actually realised, bronze doesn’t contribute to the superchest. 100 bronzes vs 1 gold, it seems to me the gold contributes 1.5x more, might have just been a bug for me

Depends

Maybe people can host an experiment.. that may last 2 weeks to test how many and which can contribute more..
Because bronze make give more keys and that keys may also get more keys...
