Like if I have an overdrive active on my Ares (let’s say 10% more damage) does that 10% extra damage affect the ability of the Ares (the built in weapons) or does it only affect weapons attached to a robot?

Good question. The wiki isn't exactly clear on this.
It just says it grants a bonus to the robot's firepower.

I suppose you could always test this theory in game if you have one. Do a test 1v1 with somebody, see how much damage it does with the Overdrive. Then repeat without
