there isn't really enough code here to guess what your problem might be
i really dont think its a typo, i have other events in the same class and they work just fine, example:

the PlayerRespawnEvent works perfectly, but somehow, someway, cancelling EntityAirChangeEvent doesnt do anything
and i took a look around and it seems other people have had the same issue, and it never gets answered
