Which repository to use as a dependency? Why one over the other? | SpigotMC | Page 1

I am starting a project, and I am just curious about which repo would be best for my use case. I would assume I don't need the server in my dependency, so I went with "org.spigotmc:spigot-api". is there a technical reason why I would want the full spigot server dependecny?
