I created a group with default and one with owner. Appropriately assigned with authorization nte.default and nte.owner and connected to luckperms. The default rank goes and if I change the rank to owner then I have the rights but the nametag remains from the default.

Is there a way to selectively turn off mob spawning on a per chunk basis on a server? Have a build that lights would ruin but mobs are becoming a real problem. But we dont want to turn mobs off entirely

i have some plugins which are containing their own nbt api but i have uploaded the nbt api plugin seprately and beacuse they all contain different version of nbt api it glitches and just dupes the items

You could synchronize economy data just by using a plugin that stores economy data in a database and share that connection between servers

Any modern versions like 1.18.2, 1.19.4, or 1.20.1 shoud do. Supporting multiple versions is not a very good idea, as of ViaVersion and all its other necessary plugins consuming lots of resources sometimes.

Hey guys, new here and have a question about an updated spigot server. I recently updated a server from 1.19 to 1.20.1 and the server works perfect. However, new plugins that I add do not generate config files. There's no errors when I boot up the server, it's basically not recognizing that I've put new plugins in the plugins folder
Make sure they got uploaded correctly
Check the file size
They're correctly uploaded, they all have varying sizes that are comparable to the working plugins

Hey y'all! I'm having an issue where hostile mobs do not spawn on my server post the 1.20 update.
The difficulty is set to hard, there are no region flags preventing mob spawning, and the gamerule for doMobSpawning is set to true.
If I do /spawnentity I can manually spawn hostile mobs, but if I use a spawn egg to spawn a hostile mob- it does not work.
I've done some searching on the discord as well as on the forums, but I've not found a concrete answer for my issue.

On my test server, yes. I copied all of my server files to a test server for troubleshooting purposes.
Issue persists with no plugins at all.

I actually think I might have figured it out.
So apparently, if you have the difficulty set in the server.properties to peaceful, it does not matter if you change the difficulty per-world in game.
That setting will override everything now.
I didn't see it as a problem originally, as prior to the 1.20 update it was not a problem. I've always had it set to peaceful in server.properties so that my worlds would default to peaceful, and then I could adjust them as needed.
So at some point, that setting became the end-all be-all for difficulty.
So that's fun!

Which is how the server has always been. Was not until the 1.20 update that the server.properties setting suddenly made any changing of difficulties in-game completely meaningless.
My assumption is this is not intentional. You can see in the log I posted that the first thing I did before trying to spawn anything was change the difficulty in-game again just to verify that it was on hard.

My daughter is the one that plays primarily and she is scared of skeery monsters and I never wanted her to suddenly be in a position where she'd be scared to get back on.
So I just adjust difficulty as needed.
That setting overriding everything is definitely new- but at least we figured it out!

Because as discussed above, Vanilla doesn't allow per-world difficulties
I would assume set the default difficulty for worlds, but that's just my assumption.
Either way, I would think that changing the difficulty in-game would be what matters.
So either spigot ignores server.properties entirely, or uses server.properties to override the difficulty (which is what vanilla does do - as Alex notes the vanilla command updates server.properties and then uses it to override any world you place in the server)
Before you could issue a difficulty change in-game via command and that would work.
But now if you have the difficulty set to peaceful in server.properties the difficulty change in game is rendered useless.
It makes it look as if it does something but still disallows mob spawning.
The same server in 1.19 had the same server.properties and had no issue with difficulty changing in-game, and no issues with mob spawning afterward.
ok, that sounds like a slightly different issue than the actual difficulty of the worlds being changed

I would assume that in-game commands would either change the server.properties or change a setting somewhere else and server.properties would just be ignored. I don't think the intended result would be 'ignore the command and just leave it at peaceful all of the time.'

Assuming its an instant disconnect, it is either a plugin from Survival, or a firewall issue, or misconfigured BungeeCord.

Late reply sorry, so Survival is hosted on port 25567, bungee on 25565 and a lobby on 25566, all on the same machine, I have let all these ports through my fire wall, and as plugins go on Survival i have ViaVersion, Viabackwards, ViaRewind, TCPShield, Znpcs, and ProtocolLib. On my TCPShield dashboard I have all these ports set in my backend dataset.
Wait I fixed my issue, I only needed the TCPShield plugin on the Bungee server not all the servers

A question regarding the file structure of the server: If i see this right the server.properties contains the "level-name", which is also the name of the folders that contain the data for the world (so if the default name "world" is used in the server.properties i have the three folders "world", "world_nether" and "world_the_end".
Someone mentioned a while back that a server could contain multiple worlds. Would that result in multiple properties-files or would the properties file contain multiple entries "level-name" or how would this work?
