Im currently debating if i should go bigger for the case, and whether to swap to a 9800x3d, Open to gpu ideas.

Main idea for this case is to be modular so thats why im debating on the size.

-Im completely clueless on motherboards, tips appreciated

-Cpu is currently set up to 9950x3d its mostly for gaming, and i have some multitasking limitations atm so price is not an issue on the cpu side
I went with 64 ram because i been capped multiple times at 32gb

-Gpu i was debating on some of the nvidias but with the supers coming early CES 2026, i don't know if i should wait or just go for a 9070xt for the moment.
-I could get a 5090 but 12vphr scares me away, but maybe its not that big of an issue if it can get covered in case of happening dont really know.

  • What monitor resolution will you be using? (e.g. 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
  • What is your budget including currency symbol? (e.g. ÂŁ2,000, 1000€)

Price: 3.767,00 €

#

Or 3,284.0 GBP

#

I've managed to make it cheaper by 700 eur

#

is there anything more i could optimize?

analog flower
#

Ditch the sound card, unless you need it for a surround sound system, the motherboards built in sound card will do nicely#

#

Are you going to be doing video editing? becuase the M.2 drives are complete overkill otherwise

near kraken
#

Not really

#

i do move alot of files

#

and stuff like that

#

i just moved 800 gbs a few days ago

analog flower
#

you won't be able to make use of the speed even at gen 4 speeds then really

near kraken
#

so maybe gen 4 is more reasonable ?

#

honestly i just wanted a pc that would last and at some point maybe swap the gpu or cpu

analog flower
#

if they were massive files, then yeah, the speeds would help, but even at just 1GB you're gonna sturrgle hard to reach the speeds gen4 offers

near kraken
#

swapping the m2 to gen 4

#

shaved off 300eur

#

I dont know about motherboards really

#

thats where im going completely blind

analog flower
#

something like this probably would benefit most, the SSD is probably going to hold you back

near kraken
#

i just know not to get asrock since they brick some pcs

near kraken
#

i didnt need anything too expensive

analog flower
#

those SSDs are often at best just as expensive as an M.2 drive on price per GB, and they are much slower to boot

near kraken
#

ah okay

#

and a triple m2 setup ?

#

smaller for os

#

2 for game and 2 (or 4) for video archives stuff like that ?

#

im not really hardcapped on budget but im not rich

analog flower
#

in that case, 2 M.2 drives for day to day work/gaming, and a HDD for the bulk stuff

near kraken
#

would a hdd go well for 4k videos =

#

this is 150 cheaper on this setup

#

actually getting another of those m2

#

is 1 euro left
