I need to advice on this gaming build to ensure I'm getting the most for my money (circa 3.5k).

Case: FRACTAL DESIGN TORRENT RGB MID TOWER CASE
Processor (CPU): AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 16 Core CPU (4.3GHz-5.7GHz/128MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5)
Motherboard: ASUS® TUF GAMING X870-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7)
Memory (RAM): 64GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 (2 x 32GB)
Graphics Card: 16GB ASUS PRIME GEFORCE RTX 5080 OC - HDMI, 3 x DP
1st M.2 SSD Drive: 2TB CRUCIAL T500 GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7400MB/sR, 7000MB/sW)
2nd M.2 SSD Drive: 2TB CRUCIAL T500 GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7400MB/sR, 7000MB/sW)
Power Supply: CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ ATX 3.1, MODULAR, CYBENETICS GOLD
Processor Cooling: CORSAIR ICUE LINK TITAN 360 RX LCD RGB HIGH PERFORMANCE CPU COOLER

Couple of queries I already have:

  1. The cooler will require the two front 180mm fans in the Fractal case to be removed. Am I potentially impacting better cooling by removing them?
  2. Is it worth getting a bigger power supplier?
  3. I believe the suggested CL30 memory is the best possible.
  4. Are there any decent discount codes anyone can share?

Thanks in advance!

I see a few possible improvements, the case, CPU and storage stand out to me, if the PC for mainly gaming, and if so what kinds of games? I feel like you'd do just as well with the 9800X3D

#

I'd also personally change the cooler, but thats because iCue sucks big stinky poo on a good day and I wouldn't want the headaches it comes with often

#

the RAM is possibly excessive, but it also depends on the use of the PC, for just gaming 32GB is fine

Can you suggest a better case please? The idea on the CPU was to future proof for AI and offensive security reasons i.e. software development. Same on the memory requirements. I do agree on the memory being excessive for gaming.

ah, so it's also being used professionally? in that case CPU and RAM choices are good

as for the case, I have some personal bias, I think the PSU should be at the bottom as it can make a case top heavy, for a more objective argument, the AIO would be mounted on the front causing the GPU to be warmer from the exhaust.

the temprature difference is a few C difference on a full load

#

I would recommend the be quiet! shadowbase 800FX, about equal in size, airflow is a little lower, but the name Torrent is apt, it can get a little loud with the massive fans up front

#

this case is the be quiet one

#

As for the PSU, a bigger one now can save money when upgrading, but also there could be a new GPU power connector requiring a new unit anywhen

To address the ram re cl rating, there are kits with lower ratings, in theory that is better, but one, lower than 30 gets MASSIVELY more expensive as in the same kit with cl 24 costs double.

The other main issue is stability, the tighter the timing gets the harder it is to ensure stability
