#Recoil 16" SSD suggestions

I ordered this laptop for gaming, studying and some VR gaming. I will add a 2nd SSD at some point for easy dual boot with Linux and Windows I will also buy the water cooling unit in just a couple weeks, as I know it's important.

My question is: what SSD to go for? I don't really need more than 1TB. Do the faster ones make a huge difference? Are some more heat effective than others? Heat is something I'm very wary of.

Thanks!

Generally for the same speeds on SSDs they generate about the same heat, however I don't recommend just 1TB, after windows takes its slice you're already down the better part of 120GB if you use a stock windows, Tiny11 windows can help but still about 50 down.

with games getting more and more obese the remaining 900GB will be gone REALLY fast

#

if you're going to stick with the 1TB drive, then the one you picked is best bang for your buck, costs the least for the speed

#

the faster gen5 drives do make a difference, in terms of windows loading, and for video editing, that said, they are pretty damn hot, I don't know who greenlighted their use in laptops, but if you ask me they deserve to have their hands stapled together

#

from the previous generation of recoil laptops the liquid cooler is not required, but it lets it throttle less, that said, that was on a 14900HX, which even if a laptop 14900 it was a mobile super nova, the 9955HX3D still is an X3D CPU, so the v-cache is temperature sensitive, the temps should be lower because of that

I'd seen you mention about gen5 heat in a different thread, and I wasn't sure if this one has that issue

I'll be fine with 1TB as I only tend to play 1 or max 2 games at a time

#

And I didn't know about tiny11 windows, I'll have to look into that

Thanks for your help!
