Please be sure to include answers to the following questions so people can assist you quicker.
- What is the purpose of your PC/laptop? (e.g. gaming, general work, 3D rendering)
- What monitor resolution will you be using? (e.g. 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
- What is your budget including currency symbol? (e.g. £2,000, 1000€)
- Which country are you purchasing from? (Note that we only operate in the UK and Europe)
- Any brand preferences?
Mostly gaming with some general work.
1440p / 4k.
Ideally under 3k
Uk £££
No preference high performance low cost 😁
Thinking maybe going for 14700k instead?
get the silver warranty £5 more for double the collect and return period
Any advice on the cpu?
i would go for amd since am5 will be supported for at least a few years into the future so you may not need a motherboard replacement
whilst intel is at the end of the platform so any cpu upgrade would need a new motherboard
which amd cpu someone else would have to help out there
👍
If you want to go lower in price you could change the GPU to a 7900 XTX. While slower with RT its faster in rasterisatzion.
And I just tried and could select the 7800X3D. Perhaps it‘s stock again.
Also I‘d remove the norton. It‘s very inefficient and not really usefull
And do you need 7TB storage?
yeah norton just causes more problems than it fixes
Ah ok il take a look. I have never used an amd gpu before and I have that stick to what you know mentality. Yesh my old pc had 5tb storage and was almost full. Nearly 3tb of just work related photos!
Been thinking of dropping the extra fans. And going 4000d for the case
As its slightly smaller and cheaper
The 4080 may not fit in the 4000D, as the AIO's rad would have to be front-mounted - not enough space up-top for a 360 radiator
4080 and a 360mm aio probably won't, you'd want something bigger, like the 5000 corsair cases, or stick with the lian Li case
Ahh ok well otherthen that you think it's good to go?
you got alot going on on the fans, , link, corsairs other connectors for the AIO, and the Lian Li fans, thats not ideal to ahve 3 different ecosystems
Yeah I wasn't sure about the fans. I would like to just have 1 brand of fan that I could control from 1 application.
then I recommend opting for the be quiet! case, and the frost flow 360
all "standard" 3 pin RGB and PWM headers
Would there be much of a change in thermals
I doubt it, the be quiet case fans are 140mm fans
I was looking for an option to remove the fans that come with the case. So I can have them all linked with the same ones from the corsair aio fans. But eBay your saying makes more sense
if you wanted to go full corsair link, then I'd recommend , and opt for the link cooler, plus 6 link fans
Ah so the ones with the lcd display do not support link?
PCS don't stock the link w/ LCD screens, the link coolers are expensive enough as is, another 100ish quid on top for an itty bitty LCD screen isn't an easy sell, you can get it stand alone, but it will still cost a lot for how little it is
Just tried the 6500x and says it needs additional USB 3 headers. So I I think the be quiet option is the one I like atm
it doesn't need them, it just has more USB options than most motherboards can support
it's not like you'll be hurting for USB options with the rear IO
Thats true. Just nice to have everything can be used if wanted
Agree with that. I don't really see a point in lcd panel
