Hello, I'm starting to look into getting a new PC, though I have little to no experience in custom builds, so I was hoping to get some assistance.

Budget: Around £2000, with some flexibility where it's worth.
Intended purpose: Mostly gaming. I've been limited on what game I can even run on my current system, so it would be nice to have something that can play whatever I feel like with decent graphics.
Current monitor: 1920x1080, though will be likely upgrading somewhere down the line to something better suited. (Recommendations appreciated)

This is what I've currently put together. Though with my lack of knowledge, I know it's almost certainly far from ideal, so any suggestions are appreciated, thank you!

I'd recommed that spec instead

Appreciated, these were the kinda things I assumed I'd have overlooked

I have a couple of questions if it's not too much trouble.

Would the larger case be beneficial in regards to potential upgrades down the line? Or even then was it still excessive?

And as for the GPU, is AMD always going to be preferable over Nvidia here?

AMD is very much better when price/performance matters, and while Nvidia has benefits with AI and other tools, you said it's mostly gaming, so it's not really going to come into play

#

a larger case will help for upgrade down the line, but the 4000D isn't a small case, so should be fine in that regard.

I did also change the PSU from the non modular to a modular to make upgrading that easier, on the non modular you ahve to pull the whole unit out, cables and all, on the one I picked you can swap out the box itself with a compatible upgrade

That does sound like a lot less hassle...

I assume even without that specific benefit, the modular is worthwhile anyway?

well kinda, if you want to add anything on the non modular, you have to deal with the rats nest of cables.

with the modular you plug in as needed, so you might just need to shimmy a little

#

they are also newer tech, so hopefully less prone to failure

Sorry if that seems kinda contradictory since I asked about upgrading before. I just like to try and wrap my head around different possibilities

Would you say bumping the 7900 GRE to a 7900 XT is worth the price bump?

Or is it generally not gonna make all that much difference in the long run?

I'd say yes, but does it fir your budget?

#

howver you will really want to go from 1080p to 1440p, as to no under utilize the GPU
