Thanks for creating a spec thread!
Please be sure to include answers to the following questions so people can assist you quicker.
- What is the purpose of your PC/laptop? (e.g. gaming, general work, 3D rendering)
- What monitor resolution will you be using? (e.g. 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
- What is your budget including currency symbol? (e.g. £2,000, 1000€)
- Which country are you purchasing from? (Note that we only operate in the UK and Europe)
- Any brand preferences?
Its for uk, under £1000 and for gaming, work use
work what work is it?
just simple sch stuff no editing or anything
what is "sch stuff"?
I presume 'school stuff', but thats a guess - and to be honest I dont know what 'school stuff' is now-a-days - was all on paper when I did it
I'm not making any assumptions, assumptions make a me of you and me
sorry i mean like school work
like just word documents
Google research
nothing complicated stuff u could simply do on laptop
It'll be fine for school work and lower end 1080p gaming. I would recommend you get the 4060 instead of the 3060 however for better performance and no increase to cost.
e.g. Build with 3060 card:
e.g. Build with 4060 card:
Don't ask me why the newer, better version is cheaper - it just all depends on cost when the stock was brought in 🙂
it doesnt let me
Oh you chosen a pre-build rather than building it yourself?
Ok - let's start over then
Yea sorry im not good at this
i cant build one myself
so considered getting a prebuild
You don't build it yourself don't worry - you just configure it on the website and we build it for you
If u search up nova r60 pc. Its the first one on pc specialist
I have rlly good wifi
so the PC needs wifi capability, roger
Better GPU, better RAM, better cooler, better PSU. You have budget to spare if you want to add a second storage drive or up the CPU.

Oh yea thats the one! Mine way cheaper tho idk why
Yeah pre-builts will be cheaper because the components are set in stone
I dont know if i want to make it more expensive i want to make it easier for my dad as hes staggering with work thats why i gave him my laptop and i need something new
So what is your actual budget then?
ive only added £2 for cable management
Yess
Ok, in which case that's probably your best bet. I can get your build down to £906 with the 4060 without sacrificing performance - but not down to £800.
I linked a chart above with the 3060 vs. 4060 performance
Medium settings at 1080p you're looking around 55fps
Totally depends on the game however
I see ok thank u
Hmm how about Fortnite for example? ( and no i dont play that game)
I assume that would be higher rather than lower - I don't play it either, all I know it that it's not well optimised so performance can vary a lot from system to system
Hmm ok

In Elden Ring for example:
And thats with high graphics?
Max graphics by the looks
tbh id be running my games from low- medium graphics
so do u think that pc can run above 90 fps with that?
Bearing in mine they have a 5800X3D CPU in there which will be boosting those numbers - but it at least gives you an idea
simple games i wont be playing cod or like advances stuff like that
Actually.. by lowering your graphics you're relying more on the CPU than the GPU so you may not see those numbers massively improve
hm ok thank u
so basically high graphics 60fps
This what this pc can do?
on not to advanced games
Well like I said above - Toms Hardware's chart for medium settings has the 3060 at an average of about 55fps.
Across a span of games
Unfortunately you can't expect high fps/great gaming performance from a PC with an £800 budget - but it will handle most current games with decent frame rates
If you know which games you're going to be playing - I'd recommend searching them up on youtube with the 3060 and there will no doubt be someone who's run benchmarks on them
