#Spec check + GPU Power Ports?

Hi, I’ve been configuring a new PC and am fairly happy with my choices. I’m not the most hardware savvy, so would appreciate it if someone could take a quick look and make sure everything looks good and compatible please!

I had a question too regarding the GPU - I already have an ASUS TUF 4070 TI OC, which I will put in once the PC arrives. I have entered the name on my PCS config, but it also asks for the number of GPU power ports. I’m not entirely sure what to put here - the site allows you to enter 1, 2, 3, 4, or NOT KNOWN, but has no mention of number of pins. Should I leave it as NOT KNOWN?

Should I also add any additional fans or cooling?

Specs will be added in a comment below.

Purchasing from the UK, and the computer will mainly be used for gaming. I play Helldivers and CS, and I’d like to be able to play GTA 6 on ultra comfortably once that releases. I’m close to my budget, and could stretch another hundred or two at the maximum.

I primarily play at 144hz 1080p or 4k 60hz HDR on a separate Monitor depending on the game. I will likely upgrade the 1080p monitor to a 1440p in a year or two.

Thanks very much in advance!

Changes: Up air cooler to AK620, if in stock. Will let you run it lower speed to get same cooling peformace as AK400, but quieter. Add Silver warranty. Add 500Gb - 1TB fast SSD for the boot drive. Keep the 2TB for your games/data.

As for GPU ports, I think it's 2, that connect to the 16 pin adapter.

Thanks very much @round schooner, great suggestions. I have upgraded the air cooler and the warranty, and will look into the boot drive changes.

Will I need any additional case fans or is this enough cooling-wise?

I think you’re right too regarding the GPU ports. Looks like 16 pins on the card itself. It also came with a 1 to 2 Adaptor Cable in the box. So I’d select 2?

You could add three more fans to the side, but I think I'd keep it to the three front and the 1 rear exhaust that PCS will fit for now. This will create good air flow from front to back of the case, that's ideal for air coolers. If you think you need more fans later, I'd prob add an exhaust fan at the top behind the cooler to help vent hot air out.

And yes, a quick google makes me believe you need two 8pin PCIe cables from PSU to the adapter, so PCS can run them and leave them dangling for you to install the GPU

Got it. PCS doesn’t let me specify the number of pins per cable, just the number of power ports. So I assume if I just select 2, they’ll know what’s needed?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure I’m doing it right!

Its probably just so they know how many GPU power cables to connect for you

round schooner

Yeah, the GPU cables will be a standard type (6+2 pins to be exact), so they just need to know the number of cables

Thanks @round schooner & @prisma kayak, much appreciated! Looks like I’m good to go.

You may want to consider getting a GPU bracket as well (if you were ordering your machine with a 4070ti you would get one provided but since you're providing your own GPU I'm pretty sure you wont) - either one from PCS or one from Amazon (or similar)
