Usually most of the choices are:
- the more expensive/slower choice
- the cheaper choice that will kill your pops/scientist
If you don't have the necessary resources at the time or want to rush it, you might have to take the more difficult choice, but I have never experienced drawbacks from taking the gentle ways.
