cant give help but what is name of
frogs name
First! A picture!
PS: I'm not an expert, just someone who's pretty obsessed over my frog XD
This is Ichi, my strawberry Pacman. He's about 4 m/o now. I've had him for 3.
He currently has a 30x30cm tank. Will get him a bigger one once he outgrows that. Substrate is mix of coco peat and sphagnum moss.
I live in a pretty humid climate (I'm talking naturally 70% or higher here) so I only have to mist him 2-3 times a day. Depending on where you stay, you will want to mist more or get a misting system. I use water treated with Reptisafe.
Secretes... No. No secretions. Though you do wanna handle them with powder-free, latex gloves that has been moistened with some water. Their skin is delicate so this avoids you damaging it. They also absorb stuff through their skin, so you don't want to transfer any dirt/oils/hand cream/residual soap to your frog.
As for cohab... I've never seen or heard of anyone cohabing Pacmans. I think it's pretty tricky as well. See, these Pacmans will stirke at anything that they think is food. That includes insects, other animals, moving objects like tongs, their feeding box, tissue paper, your fingers... I think for the sake of not stressing over if the other inhabitants are gonna get eaten, better not to cohab anything with these fellows. Not even other Pacmans as they will try to eat each other.
Honestly, I could probably write a whole article about them if you let me XD If there's anything else you wanna know, just let me know ^^
You could add isopods and springtails but in my experience there wast is too large for them to break down in time to prevent odor
Also add uv light and give them calcium powder every feeding to avoid mbd
And also they do shed my frog once looked sickly and I got worried but on closer examination he just had some skin on his eyes that just didn’t come off on its own properly
Oh yes, they do shed. But not in the same way as snakes/geckos do. Their looks more like a slimy film that they fellow will wiggle of and push into their mouths. When I notice my Paccy brushing his face, I will soak him in warm water to help him with the shedding and to stimulate his bowels.
And yes, as mentioned above, calcium powder is must. I give at every feeding.
