I’m trying out upgrading to 1.44.0. First launch it looked really messed up then I added the import of backstage/ui css to my app index.tsx as the change log suggests which improved the look of my app.
However, my custom fonts that I have in my custom theme are not being rendered. Any suggestions?
I’m still on the old front end system don’t know if that matters?

Is BUI in general availability now? Are we supposed to do something for migration?

There's a patch of 1.44.0 so 1.44.1 that addresses some of this.

There's also a plugin to generate a BUI theme here: https://github.com/backstage/backstage/tree/master/plugins/mui-to-bui
I'll also note that the custom theme we have on the Backstage Demo site - Aperture - looks fine using 1.44.1
